The purpose of this recommended practice is to provide the Contractor with a specification that harmonizes the requirements of major process industry companies and engineering/construction firms into a single document.

This specification describes the requirements for furnishing, transporting, handling and installing driven load bearing piles, conforming to the load capacities specified in the contract documents. Pile load tests and dynamic monitoring tests are included, if within the contract scope of work.

Pile types covered in this specification are:

Prestressed concrete piles
Timber piles
